What to Do in Case of a Dental Emergency

There are some things you need to do before and on your way to the dentist for an emergency.

Toothache

See your dentist when you start feeling pain or discomfort.

Chipped, Broken, or Cracked Tooth

Rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to your face. Wrap the broken or fragmented tooth in wet gauze or a wet towel, and bring it to the dentist with you.

Loosened or Knocked-Out Tooth

If the tooth becomes loosened from impact, call your dentist for further instruction. If the tooth is knocked out, gently insert it back into the socket if possible. If it's not possible to re-insert the tooth, hold it under your tongue until you get to the dentist.
