How to Know if You Need Dental ImplantsNovember 28, 2022
By definition an emergency is unexpected, serious, and requires immediate action. Most dental emergencies aren’t life-threatening, but if yours is, call 911 for help immediately.
For dental emergencies that are not life-threatening — including root canals, extractions, re-cementing of crowns, extreme pain, and trauma — the emergency dentist Clovis area residents trust is Dr. Lovik Mirzaeian.
Call (559) 299-2168 for an immediate emergency appointment, including evenings and Saturdays.
What to Do in Case of a Dental Emergency
Here are some things you can do before and on your way to your emergency dentist appointment:
Chipped, Broken, or Cracked Tooth
Rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to your face. Wrap the broken or fragmented tooth in wet gauze or a wet towel, and bring it to the dentist with you.
Loosened or Knocked-Out Tooth
If the tooth becomes loosened from impact, call your dentist for further instruction. If the tooth is knocked out, gently insert it back into the socket if possible. If it's not possible to re-insert the tooth, hold it under your tongue until you get to the dentist.
Call for an appointment and ask whether you should take over-the-counter pain medication or not. You should always see your dentist when you start feeling pain or discomfort.
