Signs You Need Your Wisdom Teeth Removed

Most people have to have their wisdom teeth removed in their lifetime. But how do you know when it's time? Your dentist can tell you when a good time would be to remove or you may start to notice the common signs.

  1. Constant Pain

  2. This is the most common sign that you need your wisdom teeth removed. You may feel pain in the back of your mouth when you eat, brush your teeth, or just throughout the day. A dental checkup can help you figure out if this pain is caused by your wisdom teeth coming in.

  3. Stiff Jaw

  4. When your wisdom teeth grow in, they push your other teeth out of the way to make room. This can cause pain or stiffness in your jaw. If you are feeling this pain or stiffness in your jaw, check in with your dentist to confirm that it's your wisdom teeth, or possibly something else.

  5. Swollen Gums

  6. When your wisdom teeth grow in, they can cause tenderness in your gums. This can also cause infections in the gum tissue because it's difficult to get them clean. Removing the wisdom teeth can help the inflammation to go down and reduce your chances of infection.
